But almost always, it’s about finding the perfect opportunity to meet up and enjoy some real quality time together. You bring your curiosity and your company: friends, family, colleagues, or new acquaintances. Or maybe you’ll find them during your Moveat. That’s the beauty of it. A Moveat becomes whatever our Moveaters make of it. Always delicious. Never dull.

Food as a connector

It began with a reunion and an idea. On a rooftop bar in New York, two friends and former colleagues from Sweden met up during the North food festival. With strong connections in the hospitality and culinary world in Scandinavia, they shared a passion for local food experiences. At the same time, they wanted to find a way to support local food and drink heroes. That was the beginning of what would become Moveat.

From local food and drink hopping to international community

Moveat took its first steps as a food and drink hopping experience in southern Sweden and quickly found a wider audience. In a short time, Moveat expanded to over 70 locations across Sweden. The next step was to cross borders into Norway and Denmark. And after thousands of Moveats completed, the journey now continues into Europe—with Germany as the first destination.

Guided by a foodie heart and a strong idea

Moveat continues to evolve, with a growing community of Moveaters and passionate food partners. Still guided by the same meaningful idea to connect people through local food experiences, and to support a thriving culinary culture, everywhere.

We want to reduce our own footprint and be a positive force in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. As part of both the food and events industry, we see several ways to make a local impact. Both through our own operations, but also by setting requirements for partners, facilitating more sustainable choices and inspiring more sustainable eating. These are some of the things we do.

Plant-based food is sustainable and climate-smart. That’s why every tasting stop during Moveat Original offers vegan alternatives.

In Season

By eating ingredients that are in season and grown nearby, we enhance flavor while reducing our climate impact. That’s why we encourage all participating partners to offer seasonal ingredients.

Zero Food Waste

The worst food for the environment is the food that gets thrown away. That’s why we and our partners work towards zero food waste—primarily through careful planning and preparation for each Moveat event.

Movement for Wellbeing

Good food should also contribute to good health. That’s why we connect food with movement. During a Moveat, you walk approximately 3–5 kilometers.
